Skilled
This visa is designed to address skilled labour shortages by bringing in workers where an employer cannot find an appropriately skilled Australian.
To be eligible you must:
- Have a skill based on an approved occupation
- Be less than 50 years old
- Achieve the specified score in the points test
- Meet English requirements
- Meet health and character requirements
What this visa lets you do?

Partner
If you are in a relationship with an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealander, your partner might be eligible to sponsor you to live in Australia
To be eligible you must:
- Be sponsored by an eligible partner
- A partner may include: a married partner, a fiancé, a de facto partner, a same sex partner
- Prove that the relationship is genuine and ongoing
- Meet health and character requirements
